TREE PLANTATION by Green Yatra and St.Xavier’s College

The time has come for the youth to actively come forward to Save Mother Earth and Environment for the present and future generations. It is with this mindset the students and volunteers of  St.Xavier’s College BMS festival - Pandemonium in collaboration with 1 small step –an initiative of Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd - the largest aggregator, developer, publisher and distributor of Bollywood and South-Asian entertainment and the NGO partner Green Yatra, who dedicatedly working in the field of environment protection and conservation, successfully held the ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ under the guidance of Green Yatra team and environmental activist Mr. Subhajit Mukherjee  at Manorma Co-Op Hsg Society, Ramwadi, Jogeshwari  (E) Mumbai, on Tuesday ,6th of December.

A mission of planting 100+ saplings provided by GreenYatra all around the society was set and achieved and it proved to be a very productive and enjoyable experience for all.  Manorma Society’s resident will take care of these planted saplings. Through this year’s theme of PandemoniumGreenovation the students were encouraged to participate in this event and were enthusiastic right from the start. This Greenovation initiative and the joint effort will definitely bring a positive change in society and GenNEXT and will accelerate innovation, dialogue and action in the youth who participated. A once in a lifetime chance was given and was taken with open arms by the students and volunteers who did their bit for society and the environment by helping bridge the present environmental crisis and bringing a smile on faces , especially of the members of Manorma Co-Op Hsg Society.

The effort of the volunteers however, did not go unnoticed and they were given certificates specially endorsed by Green Yatra and to go with the theme of the whole event were awarded with Green Pandemonium T-shirts. All in all it was a great day for the volunteers, the society and for Mother Earth as well. It was a great way to kick-start this upcoming BMS festival on the 9th and 10th of December which now has a strong foundation upon which the event can showcase and inspire people to make an effort towards a greener tomorrow.
